Guerilla Warfare
There's no place like America. No one knows that better than the military forces occupying Iraq as the best of us are sitting at home on our computers safely surfing the internet; Maybe getting ready to drive to the grocery store to prepare for tonight's dinner not once slamming on the breaks with a rush of adrenaline and fear because we spotted a piece of trash on the side of the road. Why? Because that would be illogical. Not one soul in America has to pass by a piece of trash and worry if it's disguising an improvised explosive device waiting to blow us all up. Not one soul. Why is that, I wonder?
Could it be because of the men & women who, let me remind you have families with children who love them & more importantly who need them, are putting their lives on the line for the very country that is cutting the funding and benefits for their veteran programs . Not to mention the medical benefits that could save a hundred precious lives with the domino effect of saving just one. Hmm, think children. Or could it be because of the men and women who have died by the dozens in countries we didn't even know existed ( Ex. Djibouti, Eritrea, Jordan, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Philippines, Seychelles, Sudan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Yemen) until we just happened to come across their obituary in the local paper because we don't recognize their inspirational efforts until they've already died, are fighting for our freedom?
No! It's because we have confidence in our political leaders and we trust that they are making the right decisions & because we know that our military can handle anything that is put before them because they are trained to do so. WRONG AGAIN! I want you, personally, to sit for a moment and think about the reason you feel safe at home with your windows open and your door unlocked. That very reason you're thinking of is intending to trigger your intuition as an American to stand up and fight for your country in ways that the men & women in the front lines can't, and that is here, in America. Every American should be personally offended when a soldier dies. Every American should be politically engaged in the intentions of our government in other countries. Every American needs to take a stance and become intruiged with some motivation to drive their community into a collaborative approach on educating one another about why there is an insurgency, what Operation Enduring Freedom is, what they can do to become an influence in directing the government to provide for our armed forces and show more appreciation for the risks they are taking because they are out there proving that freedom isn't free.
I was once told that knowledge is power. I've since learned that knowledge is more powerful when it is universal. I am most interested in the potential a group of people have when they are focusing their drive into one matter, for one purpose. When Americans can learn to unite, then Americans can speak of results and not of posibilities. Simple knowledge of our country's situation can bring new ideas and new angles of operation if only people were intersted enough to wonder how they can still wake up and look in the mirror every morning in one piece, while our country is at war. Knowledge isn't just power anymore, it's ammunition. It's all we have to insure the existence of any kind of future and it starts with answering one question, Where do you stand?
"The best way to win this war against an insurgency is to stand up a unity government which is capable of defending itself but also providing tangible benefits to the people." - President George W. Bush Camp David June 12, 2006 Regarding Strategy on Iraq
